Brief introduction:
Stigmasterol appears to be white crystalline powder with optically activity, and its density is higher than water's, the melting point is above 100°C,it is insoluble in water, alkali and acid, and can be dissolved in acetone and alcohol lightly under ambient temperature. It will decompose and sublimate under high temperature. It can become hydrocarbon through hydrogenation between 150°C-170°C, and will be resinified over 250°C.

It is mainly used as the raw material of pharmaceutical and steroid hormone, it is also the raw material of Vitamin D3. Stigmasterol also can be added in food and cosmetics as a kind of new functional ingredients..
